CARB-X is responsible for publicly sharing the stewardship and access plans from product developers on this web site. Product developers are responsible for producing these plans. These documents are developed after the product developers have left the CARB-X portfolio, so CARB-X is not directly involved in the production of the plans, and CARB-X does not assess them for quality.
The Stewardship and Access Plans for diagnostics have a different context than therapeutics or preventatives. Diagnostic products include an assay, an instrument, and software (to process the assay results and to manage the operations of the instrument). Because of the number and range of components, there may be dozens or hundreds of patents involved in the product. This intellectual property complexity must be accounted for in the stewardship and access plans.
