Tina Guina, PhD joined Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) in 2018. She is a member of CARB-X Joint Oversight Committee. Dr. Guina has 25+ years of experience in infectious disease research, and eleven years of experience in development of vaccines and therapeutics across development stages. Prior to her current appointment, she was a Program Officer at NIAID/NIH where she managed programs for development of anti-infective therapeutics and animal models and served on US Government committees for the public health preparedness. Prior to joining NIAID, Dr. Guina worked on vaccine development in biotech industry. During her appointment as Research Assistant Professor at the University of Washington in Seattle, she led research groups that investigated bacterial pathogenesis using systems biology approaches and infection models.
