Ruth Appleby, PHD

Senior Alliance Manager

Ruth has fifteen years of business development experience identifying and advancing healthcare innovations. She has an honors degree in biochemistry and a PhD in molecular genetics from Massey University, New Zealand. Her post-doctoral research was in inherited disease, blood coagulation disorders and mitochondrial disease. Ruth was the Director of Product Development for an IVD company in California specializing in blood coagulation diagnostics. She has since worked as a Business Development Manager at Otago University, NZ, specializing in biotechnology commercialization and was an investment advisor for a venture capital company. Most recently before joining CARB-X Ruth was the CEO for a cardiovascular disease diagnostic startup.
