Jesse Oakes

Information Technology Director

Jesse Oakes has more than two decades of experience leading enterprise IT programs in higher education. At CARB-X, he oversees the organization’s technology operations, infrastructure, and security. Before joining CARB-X, Jesse held a progression of leadership roles at Indiana University, where he set technology strategy and governance for academic and research computing, managed enterprise platforms and the projects that shaped them, and provided responsive, high-touch support to demanding users across the institution. He is known for building engaged, high-performing teams and for translating organizational priorities into secure, reliable systems in highly-regulated environments.
