Science Lead, Drug-resistant Infections Programme

Dr. Ghada Zoubiane is the Science Lead for Drug-Resistant Infections Programme at Wellcome Trust. In her role, she is shaping and delivering Wellcome’s antimicrobial resistance strategy, bridging the gap between science and policy. Previously, Ghada was at the UK Medical Research Council for more than nine years leading in different areas of research including antimicrobial resistance, infectious diseases and public health. Ghada’s expertise includes building partnerships across diverse stakeholders on a national and international level. She represented the UK at the Management Board of the European Joint Programming Initiative for AMR and was elected as a Steering Committee member between 2013 and 2017. Prior to the MRC, Ghada spent more than eight years in basic research and early stage drug discovery and development in both the public and private sectors.
