SPECIFAST (renamed REVEAL™ AST)

AST & ID WITHIN HOURS OF POSITIVE BLOOD CULTURE

Diagnostic

Specific’s AST instrument identifies antimicrobial susceptibility in 4 hours, directly from positive blood culture samples. Printed, disposable sensor arrays positioned over each well of a 96-well antibiotic plate rapidly and sensitively detect the emitted volatile molecules that are the first sign of bacterial growth, enabling the fastest reported phenotypic determination of susceptibility in the urgent and time-sensitive case of antimicrobial-resistant bloodstream infection. The simplicity, high throughput, and relatively low cost of this system suits it for wide adoption.

Current Development Stage: Product Development
