LYNN MARKS

Senior Advisor, Office of the Director, BARDA

Dr. Marks is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. He began his career on faculty at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine supported by a NIH Physician Scientist Award. He then joined Industry and worked for 25 years at what is now GlaxoSmithKline. He held a range Senior roles including head of the Infectious Diseases Therapy Area followed by a large management position leading the group conducting Clinical trials for all therapy areas, all phases of Development and worldwide. He finished his time at GSK as Senior Clinical Advisor for Infectious Diseases and Chief Research Practices Officer for all of GSK’s R&D programs (Consumer Health, Vaccines and Pharmaceuticals). He was instrumental in creating and managing the multi-company consortium, Transcelerate BioPharma. He also serves on the NIH/NCATS Advisory Council and co-chairs the Cures Acceleration Network. He is currently Senior Advisor to the Office of the BARDA Director.
