SUMMARY:8th AMR Conference
DESCRIPTION:The #AMRconference is a platform for SMEs\, start-ups\, big pharma\, academia\, investors and public institutions to discuss strategies and specific challenges faced by the innovation ecosystem in bringing new antimicrobial treatments and diagnostics to the market. \nThe conference is the one-stop shop to catch up with the latest trends in the development of AMR products\, by covering scientific\, regulatory\, financial and policy topics. Besides high-level talks\, the conference is a great place to network and exchange views on innovative technologies\, development paths and alternative business models with your peers. The conference also offers a partnering platform to facilitate interactions. \nThe 7th edition covered the whole innovation value chain\, including scientific breakthrough\, preclinical and clinical development\, but also financial topics such as public funding for R&D\, market incentive and investors’ perspective. Specific sessions were also dedicated to antimicrobials in the environment\, diagnostics\, antifungals\, biologics and anti-tuberculosis drug combinations. There was a special focus on India and how the country is getting prepared to provide global solutions against AMR. Among other highlights were a start-up competition\, hosted by the pharma-backed incubator INCATE\, and a poster prize. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe AMR Conference is jointly organized by BEAM Alliance and bamconn GmbH. \nThe BEAM Alliance is one of the major supporting partners of the AMR Conference. Launched in June 2015\, the BEAM (Biotech companies in Europe combating AntiMicrobial Resistance) Alliance gathers more than 70 small and medium-sized European biotech and diagnostics companies committed to developing innovative products for fending off antibiotic-resistant pathogens. BEAM Alliance carries the voice of SMEs to support policies and incentives in antimicrobial research and development in Europe. \nbamconn GmbH was established in November 2022 as a spin-off of BIOCOM AG and continues its entire event management as an independent company. It is built on more than 15 years of experience in the planning\, organization and implementation of scientific events and exhibitions. The portfolio covers the entire spectrum from small workshops with 20 participants to multi-day international conferences for up to 2\,000 people as well as exhibitions on the topic of bioeconomy throughout Europe. Customers for whom the bamconn team worked so far are companies\, research institutions\, associations and federal ministries as well as subordinate authorities and EU-funded projects.

SUMMARY:Antimicrobial Resistance - Genomes\, Big Data and Emerging Technologies
DESCRIPTION:Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a major challenge in our globalised world\, and tackling it will take the combined resources and effort of researchers working across different disciplines. Technical advances in recent years continue to expand our ability to collect vast amounts of genomic information on pathogens\, and a wealth of data is being collected in epidemiological and surveillance studies\, including on the socio-economic burden of AMR. \nOur 4th conference in this series will bring together basic researchers\, clinicians\, computer scientists\, and policymakers interested in pathogen genomics\, epidemiology\, surveillance\, and machine learning to explore the recent advances and current challenges of the field. \nThis year’s programme will once again focus on genomic evidence and how to implement it in clinical practice and policy for AMR control. The meeting will highlight the advances in machine learning\, AI and computational tools to predict AMR. We will also discuss how to build an international genomics infrastructure to tackle AMR and emerging lessons from other global public health issues. \nThis conference will be a hybrid meeting – with onsite or virtual attendance. In addition to invited talks\, the programme will include short oral presentations selected from abstracts\, posters\, poster pitches and networking breaks for further discussion.

SUMMARY:Gordon Research Conference | Innovative Approaches in Antibacterial Research and Development to Fight the Antibiotic Resistance Crisis
DESCRIPTION:The New Antibacterial Discovery and Development GRC is a premier\, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research\, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide\, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities\, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks\, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages\, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field. \n\nThe antibiotic resistance crisis is among us\, and with it\, the urgent need to tackle this global health threat has never been greater. Yet each step in the discovery and development process\, from target validation and inhibitor optimization to clinical trial design and product commercialization\, poses formidable challenges. The New Antibacterial Discovery and Development GCR will turn these challenges into opportunities to promote interdisciplinary innovation while addressing the global need for more effective antibiotic therapies. \nThe conference will offer a forum where participants of all backgrounds and career stages explore solutions to current bottlenecks in antibacterial drug development\, creating bridges between Academia\, Industry\, and Governments. Importantly\, the meeting will provide early career researchers and trainees ample networking opportunities with highly experienced leaders in a positive and inclusive environment.
