SUMMARY:ASM Microbe Breakout Session - Enabling Academia to Fill the Discovery Gap
DESCRIPTION:Presentations developed in cooperation with GARDP\, CARB-X\, and REPAIR Impact Fund. \nAntimicrobial resistance (AMR) continues to be a major problem that is not being addressed adequately by the pharmaceutical industry. Academic research is more frequently serving as a source for novel antimicrobial agents to treat infections caused by antibiotic-resistant organisms. In this session\, drug discovery efforts originating from academic laboratories will be discussed. The importance of collaborative efforts will be emphasized.
