Job description

CARB-X is a grant funded project focused on accelerating the pre-clinical development of products to address antibiotic resistance, including drugs, vaccines and diagnostics. With more than 20 innovative therapeutic and diagnostic projects already in the portfolio, the project is expected to continue to grow rapidly.

The CARB-X Compliance Specialist promotes best practices and solutions within BU and across the CARB-X partners (e.g., subrecipents). This position serves as a liaison and subject matter expert for CARB-X partners to assure smooth and coordinated review processes for activities involving animals and financial conflicts of interests (FCOIs).

The Compliance Specialist will generally perform the following functions: managing, monitoring and training for compliance processes related to the animal care and use activities and financial conflicts of interests (FCOI) covered under the CARB-X Project; ensuring standard operating procedures (SOPs) are being followed appropriately; and serving as the point-of contact for animal care and use and FCOI compliance processes for internal stakeholders and external partners (e.g., subrecipients).

This is a full-time position, grant funded for up to five years located on the Charles River Campus of Boston University. We are currently in Year 3 of 5.

This position is eligible for the generous tuition remission at Boston University.

Required Skills

•Bachelors degree required.
•1 to 3 years of experience in a fast paced operational environment.
•Excellent organizational, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
•Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively both independently and as part of a team to meet tight deadlines
•Ability to produce high-quality work reflecting attention to detail and accuracy.
•Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
